1st Waterway´s Regulators and Users Working Table Meeting on the DANTE Project

On July 12, 2017, the Falkensteiner Hotel in Bratislava held the 1st Waterway´s Regulators
and Users Working Table Meeting on the DANTE Project. It was attended by a wide range
of participants – waterway users, representatives of national public authority as well as
representatives from the Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic.
The aim of the meeting was to connect waterway users with national authorities responsible
for the implementation and control of administrative processes and procedures in inland
waterway transport.

Within first workshop program, participants were inducted with the DANTE project and were
summarized current situation in the country regarding to the thematic areas identified for
project needs. Each of the thematic areas combines a set of administrative processes and
procedures in inland waterway transport, with implementation and control being the
responsibility of the relevant national public authority. In the subsequent discussion, the
participants had the opportunity to comment on the issue, to point out shortcomings and to
propose its solutions.

A follow-up working meeting is planned for the fall of 2017.
